WRTA is on right route, despite bumpy ride

The new free shuttle service that circles between the WRTA’s hub near Union Station and City Hall neatly fixes one of the holes in service riders have complained about this summer.
When the Worcester Regional Transit Authority’s hub on Foster Street opened two months ago, some riders wanting to get to or leave from the City Hall area have been inconvenienced by the need to walk to or from the hub.
It’s only three blocks or so, but there are busy streets to cross, uneven sidewalks and other impediments. The walk between the hub and the core of downtown is enough to hamper the elderly, the infirm, and anyone with a lot to carry or accompanied by children; and of course it will only get worse in bad weather.
