WORCESTER, MA. July 2, 2008 — Between July 3rd and July 6th, certain WRTA bus routes may be delayed or experience temporary detours due to Summer Nationals in downtown Worcester. Areas affected may include Crowne Plaza Hotel, Main Street, and Major Taylor Boulevard between Central Street and Highland Street.

The following alternative routes are to be used in the event that certain parts of Main Street are closed for the events.

Outbound:
Routes 8, 14, 23, 24, 26, 30, and 31 departing from City Hall will turn right onto Front Street, left onto Commercial Street, right onto Foster Street, and left onto Major Taylor Blvd. and continue on their regular routing.

Inbound:
Routes 8, 19, 23, 24, 26, 30, and 31 will use Major Taylor Blvd., turn right on Foster Street, and left onto Main Street.

The WRTA will work closely with the Worcester Police to minimize the disruption to our service.
