NEW SERVICE

ROUTE #
Route 29

PROPOSED SERVICE
8am-8pm.

EXISTING SERVICE
No Existing Service.

CHANGE IN SERVICE
Route 29 would receive 12 hours of new service.

POSITIVE
Provides new Saturday service to Southbridge and Charlton. Provides additional Saturday access to Auburn Mall and areas of Southbridge Street with Routes 25 and 42.

ROUTE #
Route 27

PROPOSED SERVICE
Eliminate service to the Auburn Mall, and all points in Auburn. Route would be short turned at James/S. Ludlow Streets.

EXISTING SERVICE
Route currently extends into Auburn through S. Ludlow Street in Worcester to Pinehurst Ave in Auburn. Route continues to Oxford Street North and Auburn Street and terminates with direct access to the Auburn Mall.

CHANGE IN SERVICE
Service would be eliminated from James/S. Ludlow Streets directly to the Auburn Mall.

POSITIVE
Controls bus bunching along Main Street. Allows for clock face headways from the Hub with Routes 19 and 33. Improves amount of service for the Route 27-5 interline.

NEGATIVE
Does not allow direct access to the Auburn Mall for anyone from Main South/Webster Sq/Stafford Street, which is highly productive. Eliminates productive leg of Auburn Street.


INTERLINE ADJUSTMENTS / TIMING AND/OR SERVICE SPAN ADJUSTMENTS

Route 1 and 16

PROPOSED SERVICE
9am-7pm.

EXISTING SERVICE
Routes 1 is interlined with Route 2 on Saturday and operates between 7am and 5:55pm. Route 16 is interlined with routes 14, 15, 16 and operates between 9:55am and 6:45pm.

CHANGE IN SERVICE
With new combo, Route 1 gains 3 hours of additional service; Route 16 gains 1 hour additional service.

POSITIVE
Longer service spans (4 hours total).

NEGATIVE

Route 7 and 23

PROPOSED SERVICE
6am-10pm.

EXISTING SERVICE
Route 23 interlined on Saturdays with routes 19, 3 and 23 with route 23 operating between 6:35am and 9:42pm. Route 7 operates idependently on Saturday between 6:15am and 9:45pm.

CHANGE IN SERVICE
Route 7 gains an additional 30 mins of service; Route 23 gains 53 minutes of service.

POSITIVE
Additional service hours. More efficient new 7 & 23 interline than existing Routes 3, 19 and 23 interline.

NEGATIVE
Disbands existing “cross-town” connection between Routes 19 and 23.

Route 19 and 30

PROPOSED SERVICE
6am-10pm.

EXISTING SERVICE
Route 19 is interlined on Saturdays with routes 19, 3 and 23 with route 19 operating between 6:50am and 9:25 pm. Route 30 is interlined with route 6 on Saturdays and operates between 5:50am and 9:57pm.

CHANGE IN SERVICE
Route 19 gains 85 minutes of new service; Route 30 loses 7 minutes.

POSITIVE
Route 19 gains 85 minutes additional service. Establishes new interline on high volume routes.

NEGATIVE
Route 30 loses 7 minutes of service. Disbands existing “cross-town” connection between Routes 19 and 23.

EXISTING SERVICE
Routes 1 and 2 interlined on Saturday with route 2 operating between 7:30am and 5:45pm.

Route 2 gains 1.75 hours of additional service.

Disables underutilized interline. Adds 1 hour and 45 minutes of additional service.

EXISTING SERVICE
Route 3 is interlined on Saturdays with routes 19, 3 and 23 with route 3 operating between 10:25am and 6:25pm.

Earlier start time. Disbands complicated interline with Routes 19 and 23.

Route 5 gains almost 7.25 hours of additional service; Route 27 gains 25 minutes of additional service and a later start time.

Greatly enhances Route 5 with an additional 7.5 hours of service.

Route 42 would gain 4 hours and 30 mins of new service with 2 additional trips added in the midday.

Provides consistent all day service on Route 42 on Saturdays. Aims for clock headway. Fills a service gap that has been requested by customers for over one year.
