Schedule Changes



Effective Sunday, March 9, 2008


On Sunday, March 9, 2008, Park Avenue will be closed from Mill Street to Highland Street (Elm Park) from 11:30am until 3:30pm due to the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. During this time, Route 2 & Route 7 buses will be diverted as follows:

Route 2:
Outbound: Buses will detour off Pleasant Street turning right onto Hudson St., right on Elm St., left on Russell St., left on Institute Rd., left on Haviland St., right on Highland St., and resume regular routing at Newton Square.
Inbound: Buses will detour off Pleasant St. at Newton Square to Highland St., left on Haviland St., right on Institute Rd., right on Hackfield Rd., right onto Highland St., left on Russell St., left on Pleasant St., and resume regular routing.

Route 7:
Outbound: Buses will terminate at May St. and Florence St. and will resume service at Mill St. and Williamsburg Dr.; Washington Heights will be served.
Inbound: Buses will depart from Washington Heights and resume regular service at May St. and Florence St.

 

 

Effective Monday, February 25, 2008

Due to MBTA commuter train schedule changes, Route 33 and Route 42 scheduled stop times have been adjusted. Official schedules are available for download here and on the Schedules & Routes Map page.

Effective Tuesday, July 1, 2008


The WRTA Advisory Board voted to eliminate Routes 110 and 32, as well as eliminate bus service on New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. These changes will be effective on July 1, 2008.

 



Effective Monday, February 18, 2008


On Monday, February 18, 2008, the WRTA will observe Presidents Day. All bus routes will run on a Saturday schedule, with the exception of Routes 22, 32, 33, 42, and 110 which will operate on a Weekday schedule.

 

 

 

Effective Saturday, January 26, 2008


As of Saturday, January 26, 2008, outbound trips on Route 30 (City Hall to Wal-Mart) will only enter Wachusett Plaza (Salter College) “By Request”. If a passenger wants to stop at the Salter College, please inform the bus operator ahead of time. If there is no request, the bus will not turn into the Plaza and will continue on to Wal-Mart. All inbound trips on Route 30 (Wal-Mart to City Hall) will pass through Wachusett Plaza.


 

 

Effective Monday, January 21, 2008

 

On Monday, January 21, 2008, the WRTA will observe Martin Luther King Day. All bus routes will run on a Saturday schedule, with the exception of Routes 22, 32, 33, 42, and 110 which will operate on a Weekday schedule.

 

 

 

Effective Tuesday, December 25, 2007 and Tuesday, January 1, 2008


The WRTA will observe Christmas Day and New Year's Day. All bus service will operate on a Sunday schedule on Tuesday, December 25th and on Tuesday, January 1st.



 

Effective Sunday, November 11, 2007

On Sunday, November 11, from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm, Grove Street will be closed from Glennie Street to Concord Street. The Route 30 bus will travel on the Outbound trip from Major Taylor Blvd, left on Concord St., to Salisbury St, right on Park Av. to Gold Star Blvd and continue normal routing. Inbound buses will continue straight on West Boylston St. to Park Ave, left on Salisbury St. to Concord St, right on Major Taylor Blvd and continue normal routing.

 

 

 

Effective Tuesday, September 4, 2007 - Until Further Notice

A portion of South Road at the UMASS University Campus will be closed for construction on weekdays from 7pm to 5am until further notice. Bus routes 15, 16, and 24 will be detoured during this time. Inbound and Outbound passengers will be picked up and discharged at the corner of Second St. and South Road

 

Wednesday July 4 - Sunday July 8, 2007

The Summer Nationals occur in Worcester July 4th through July 8th. Certain WRTA bus routes may be delayed by congestion and may experience temporary detours. The Worcester Police may require these temporary detours each day. The area affected will be in the vicinity of the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Main Street and Major Taylor Boulevard between Central Street and Highland Street. The routes potentially affected are: 3, 8, 21, 23, 24, 26, 30, and 31. The WRTA will work closely with the Worcester police to minimize the disruption to our service.

Wednesday July 4, 2007

The Worcester Regional Transit Authority will observe Independence Day.
All buses will operate on a Sunday Schedule.
