Snow Routes

[Effective August 2006]
The WRTA works in all kinds of weather to provide safe, reliable, and convenient service. In some cases, this means using alternate routings. Snow route and detour information is available from drivers, from signs posted on the buses, through radio station announcements, and the WRTA’s telephone information number 508.791.WRTA (9782). Snow route detours are also shown on the map of each printed schedule.

To ensure the safety of both passengers and drivers, the WRTA has established the following SNOW ROUTES during winter weather conditions.

Look for the red SNOW ROUTE sign as you enter the bus to determine if changes are in effect for the bus you are riding. (If there is no change, a REGULAR ROUTE sign will be in place).

The routes listed below are subject to change!
No Route Changes Due to Snow: 1, 2, 4, 5, 8, 25, 26, 30, 42, 110

Not Served when Snow Route is in Effect:

3	Fairlawn Rehab/Fallon Clinic not served.
6	Mower St. and Sunnyhill Dr. are not served. Snow Route terminates at airport rotary.
7	Family Health Center, Coes Pond Village and Washington Heights are not served.
9/29	Ararat St. to Price Chopper are not served. Snow route bus will travel to Rochelle St. and terminate on Brattle St.
10	College Street and Maplewood Heights are not served. Snow route terminates at Southbridge St. and College St.
11	Upland St., Autumn Woods Apts. and Spofford St. not served.
14	Brattle St. in Worcester, Doyle Rd. and Shrewsbury St. in Holden not served. Bus will terminate on Pullman St.
15	Shrewsbury Towers and Francis Gardens not served.
16	Plantation Towers not served. Route will terminate at Lincoln St. and Country Club Blvd. No service to Lincoln Plaza.
18	Eastview Apts. and Lincoln Park Towers not served. Snow route will travel Alvarado Ave. and Anna St. Route terminates at Wigwam and Alvarado.
19	Goddard Memorial Drive, Worcester Airport and South High School not served. Bus will take Main to Apricot to Goddard back to Main. Leicester Housing Authority not served.
21	Jewish Community Center and Illyrian Gardens are not served. Plourde Recreation Center and Laska Gymnasium are not served. Bus will terminate at La Maison Francaise, Assumption College Campus. Snow route will not travel through back of Assumption College. Route will terminate at Main Entrance to Assumption College.
22	Green St. and Dorchester St. are not served. Bus will take Major Taylor Blvd. by Union Station and continue on to Grafton St. Colonial Apts. is not served.
23	St. Nicholas Ave. and Clark St. are not served. Snow route terminates at Worcester Arts Magnet School.
24	Worcester State Hospital and Lincoln Towers are not served. Bus will take Belmont Street to Plantation Street to UMASS.
27	Stoneville Heights not served.
31	No service to Lincoln Plaza. Route will terminate at Lincoln St. and Country Club Blvd.
32	Venus Dr., Chester St. and Parkton Ave. are not served.
33	Leicester Housing Authority and Becker College are not served. Bus travels along Route 9 through Leicester.
