Westborough Officials Cut Ribbon to Commemorate New Business Shuttle Service
WESTBOROUGH _ On Monday, December 9, 2013 at 7:30 a.m., Westborough officials, leaders of the Worcester Regional Transit Authority (WRTA), Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission (CMRPC), Corridor Nine Area Chamber of Commerce, 495/Metrowest Partnership, Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce, and local business leaders will commemorate the official launch of the new WRTA business shuttle service in Westborough, with a Ribbon Cutting event. The event will take place at the MBTA Commuter Rail Station in Westborough, on Smith Parkway and Fisher Street.
Westborough bus service links rail, office parks
WESTBOROUGH — Only a handful of riders so far have taken the new shuttle connecting local office parks with the MBTA station, but regional planners say the bus will satisfy the longstanding need to link city-dwelling commuters to their suburban jobs.
The new shuttle service started Monday, running 13 weekday round trips through Westborough, including morning and evening trips to the office parks and MBTA station that coincide with inbound and outbound trains.

DOT says ice on roads formed quickly, crews couldn’t keep up
WORCESTER – Donna Ellis saw commotion ahead on Interstate 290 westbound. She didn’t know what was in front of her, but once she saw the pile of cars the 48-year-old city resident hit the brakes.
But instead of avoiding the 65-vehicle crash Sunday morning, Ms. Ellis found herself slamming into a car, then into a side barrier.
