WRTA ridership on the rise in Northbridge

NORTHBRIDGE — Ridership on the Worcester Regional Transit Authority buses is up substantially since the service began at the beginning of the year.
Town Manager Theodore D. Kozak told selectmen Monday that according to the Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission, ridership on the two routes has increased fivefold.
Route A, which goes from the Walmart in Northbridge to the Shoppes at Blackstone Valley, increased to 353 riders in August, from 68 last December. Route B, traveling from Walmart through Grafton to the MBTA commuter rail station, had 339 riders in August, compared to 69 in December.
