WORCESTER – The WRTA Advisory Board is seeking input on several proposed service changes for bus riders that, if approved, will become effective the end of January 2016.
The dates and locations of five public hearings are being finalized and will be posted alongside the proposed changes on the WRTA website. However, the advisory board is currently looking at beginning the hearings Oct. 5. Four will be in Worcester. The fifth will be held in Southbridge, where bus service is proposed for Saturdays. That proposal would add 12 hours to Route 29 bus service on Saturdays, providing service to Southbridge and Charlton, which currently operates on weekdays only.
Many of the recommended changes are from the comprehensive service analysis an outside consultant completed June 30. The analysis took into consideration input gathered from residents during a number of listening sessions the WRTA held beginning August 2014.
