State DOT gets Worcester input on 5-year spending plan

WORCESTER – With the start of fiscal 2017 quickly approaching, state transportation officials collected public input for its five-year capital investment plan.
The $14.4 billion capital spending plan will likely get final approval in the next few weeks, and will cover fiscal 2017 to fiscal 2021, according to David Mohler, director of planning for the state Department of Transportation.
At a meeting Tuesday night at the Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission’s office at Union Station, Mr. Mohler said the five-year-plan developed priorities across three categories: reliability of transportation infrastructure, modernization and expansion.
