The WRTA will hold Public Meetings to obtain public comment regarding proposed schedule changes to certain bus routes that would go into effect at the end of January 2017.

The proposed changes are to improve ridership and route productivity for the following bus routes:

Route 4 – extend the route to provide service to 150 Blackstone River Road. 

Route 8 – route would be eliminated. 

Route 15 – on Saturdays, outbound trips would be 30 minutes, and inbound trips would be 30 minutes, resulting in a one-hour round trip. 

Route 16 – would not directly enter George Booth Apartments (Haven Lane), route would remain on Lincoln Street. 

Route 23 – all trips would end at the Worcester Art Magnet School (at the corner of Country Club Blvd. and St. Nicholas Avenue) instead of The Fairways apartments. 

Route 26 – all trips would end at the Tacoma Street Playground/Great Brook Valley Pool instead of Allegro Microsystems. 

Route 30 – on Sundays, no longer provide service to Cinemas North. All trips will end at the Walmart in West Boylston. 

Route 42 – on weekdays, add an outbound trip at 10:35 AM to eliminate current gap in service. Afternoon trips will be shifted later due to the additional trip.

The proposed changes below are in addition to the changes listed above and are to improve ridership and route productivity for the following bus routes:

Route 11 – extend the route to provide service to 150 Blackstone River Road on certain trips. 

Route 42 – discontinuing diversions to Wheelock Apartments and Golden Heights.
