Hidden agenda in Worcester bus hub?

There are those who believe that the $16 million modernization of the Worcester Regional Transit Authority bus services was merely an expensive ploy to keep certain elements of the community out of sight, or more frankly, out of the downtown area.
If that is the case, the ploy appears to have worked perfectly.
Prior to the June 1 opening of the WRTA’s new hub at 60 Foster St, 84.4 percent of the average bus boardings in the downtown area occurred around City Hall on Main and Front streets.
The downtown boardings represent almost 30 percent of the WRTA daily systemwide average boardings.
